The Dark Tower By Fredrik Pettersson The Dark Tower is a series of 7 books written by Stephen King. It starts with "The Gunslinger", where the main character Roland, a gunslinger from a world that has "moved on", is on the hunt for the man in black wich is his constant nemesis. More characters are introduced along Rolands long journey to the dark tower; there is the boy Jake, the schizophrenic woman Susanna and the former junkie Eddie. They form an alliance in the quest to prevent the universe from litterally falling apart, and to save the Dark Tower from evil forces. The books are very well written and composed in an epic fashion where the faith of our heroes becomes a concern for you as a reader. And for those of you thinking Stephen King is only a horror-writer should read this tale and be amazed of how he can give life to a whole world of his own, very much in the same sense as Tolkien's "Lord of the Ring". It is with mixed emotions that I hear that the books are being turned it to a movie. It is more a rule than exception that movies never becomes as good as the books they are based on, especially for Stephen King. But then again, it was made with the above mentioned Lord of the Ring, so I will keep the faith.
